Washington International School
WIS is a British standards school in Karachi, Pakistan. They were seeking a comprehensive web based student management solution. After evaluating several applications, the school board selected cloud hosted version of openSIS as the most suitable and flexible system for the school. Since openSIS is open source and is customizable for each instance, WIS management was particularly receptive. The fact that openSIS will be integrated to Moodle 2.0 in the Fall of 2010 was an added attraction for WIS. |

Masdar Institute of Science and Technology
The Masdar Institute, Abu Dhabi is a private, not-for-profit, independent, research-driven institute developed with the support and cooperation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The Institute offers Masters and (eventually) PhD programs in science and engineering disciplines, with a focus on advanced energy and sustainable technologies.
MIST wanted a customized version of a student information system that would fulfill their specific higher education requirement. OS4ED was able to customize openSIS with web based student application facility, applicant processing features and Active Directory integration for user maintenance.
MIST opted to self-host and maintains the application themselves. OS4ED provides tech support and business continuity for them. |

Career Learning Institute
CLI is a career focused institution that offers healthcare education programs to help individuals quickly enter the workforce with the skills necessary to be successful. It’s an adult education trade school.
CLI was seeking a turnkey solution for their student management and found that even though openSIS was built for a K-12 environment, it is flexible enough to accommodate trade school processes. They opted for cloud hosted openSIS.

South Plains College Upward Bound
Upward Bound is a college preparatory program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It provides young students with the skills they need to be successful in college. Participants receive academic, personal and cultural enrichment to prepare them for higher education. The Upward Bound Program at South Plains College serves 50 students from six schools in Cochran, Hockley, Lamb, and Terry Counties. Upward Bound, a Trio Program fully funded by the US Department if Education, is a NO COST program to its participants.
Realizing that Focus SIS was not meeting their needs, South Plains College Upward Bound turned to openSIS to manage their students. They are using openSIS with the Discipline and EasyCom modules to manage and communicate with the parents and students who participate in their program each year. South Plains Upward Bound easily transitioned from Focus SIS to openSIS and has successfully completed another program year with no issues. |

Adventist International Mission School
Adventist International Mission School (AIMS) in Sararubi, Thailand joins the openSIS family as our first international client. AIMS was seeking an affordable solution to replace the Rediker Administrators Plus student management system. Administrator Plus is a proprietary system running on proprietary software requiring licensing fees for Novell/Microsoft servers, Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Database Server with workstations required to be Windows XP SP 2. Additional fees include client access licenses for Windows Server and possibly Microsoft SQL Server. AIMS stands to realize significant cost savings as it eliminates these additional costs over time and still enjoy the same functionality at a fraction of the total cost. |

Summit needed a centralized SIS available via the web to manage its geographically disperse student population. The SIS had to fit into a very limited budget and have the flexibility to manage programs, degrees and courses.Summit had tried other open source SIS solutions only to find them to be buggy and unreliable. Additionally, the other solutions did not have the ability to manage programs and degrees. |

CA are members of the larger Washington Archdiocese and are partnering with the archdiocese in the implementation of openSIS. |
